Mr. J.Gonzalez

My name is John R. Gonzalez and I have been blessed as an educator with South San Antonio ISD for fourteen years.

Before becoming an Administrator, I completed my Student Teaching at Kazen Middle School. I graduated and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I worked as a Substitute Teacher with South San before becoming a Reading and Social Studies Teacher at Kazen. While teaching, I went back to school and earned my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. WHOOP! I then became an Instructional Coach for two South San campuses. I have been an administrator for several South San schools, but the energy at Carrillo is nothing short of amazing! I LOVE being a Wildcat!

Coming from a family of teachers, I learned the value of an education at an early age. I consider educating our children to be my passion and my mission. I will strive to improve student's lives every day and I am endlessly proud of the collaborative relationships I’ve made over the years to accomplish my goals. There is simply no feeling like having a former student of mine coming up to me and telling me what they’ve been able to achieve.

When I am not focused on education, you can find me spending time with my wonderful and lovely wife, Chelsea, and our vibrant, creative, and brilliant daughters, Evie and Azalea. Our last daughter is of the four-legged variety, our Scottish Terrier Tillie. 

I am so excited and proud to be here in Carrillo. This upcoming school year will present challenges yet faced, but with grit and determination, we will show how far Peace, Love, and Learning can take us!
